Paul plays Tom in a new production of Blood Guilty, a powerful drama based on real-life events by Antoine
O’Flatharta, at the Player’s Loft Theatre, from September 11th to
October 4th, directed by Kevin Collins, as part of the 1st
Irish Festival. The cast also includes Vincent Dowling, Christopher Joseph Jones
and Aidan Redmond.
"Gripping drama ... [Antoine
O'] Flaharta's concisely compelling tale, directed by Kevin Collins ...
the primary secret of the excellence of Collins' production is probably the
extraordinarily apt casting. Veteran Dublin actor Vincent Dowling, who served
for a time as Artistic Director of the Abbey Theatre has been lured out of
semi-retirement ... to play Pat, and the result is nothing short of exemplary
... Aidan Redmond, an imposing actor with a remarkably powerful stage presence,
matches Dowling note for note as the dangerously unstable John ... Christopher
Joseph Jones as the sightless Dan and Paul Nugent as Tom are totally credible
and even surprisingly moving, adding tremendously to the overall effectiveness
of Collins' strong staging." Joseph Hurley, The Irish Echo
